What We Transfer

We can transfer Records, Reels, Cassettes, Minidiscs and DAT tapes

Audio formats we transfer toWe can transfer most audio media formats to CD or digital audio files which include but are not limited to WAV, AIFF or MP3. If you would like another audio format other than the ones listed above then just let us know, your audio files can be put onto a USB drive which can be customer supplied or we can supply one for you. We also offer a digital download service where we will send you a download link that will allow you to download your files directly to your computer.

Our Transfer Process

Audio transfer with Fibre OpticWe never transfer direct to disc or low-quality audio files such as MP3, instead, we transfer directly to one of our computers using a digital optical connection. For older analogue formats such as records, reels and cassettes we will capture your audio at 16-bit 44.1kHz.

We will also capture your mini discs using this bitrate and frequency however, for DAT tapes we will use 24-bit 48kHz unless you request CD. We are happy to capture analogue formats at the higher bitrate, however, you will find it hard to notice any difference in quality.

The reason we capture at 16-bit 44.1kHZ is that this frequency is used for the CD format and will cause no issues when playing back on most devices such as mobiles, tablets or smart televisions.
