Vinyl Record Transfer and Conversion
We can transfer and convert your 33 or 45 rpm vinyl records as well as 78 rpm Shellac records. When transferring 78’s we use a specially designed stylus to prevent damage that can be caused by a standard stylus.
We capture your records by connecting our turntable directly to a D.A.T recorder using the phono (RCA) connections from the turntable. The D.A.T recorder is then connected directly to the computer using a digital optical audio Toslink cable to achieve the best quality when transferring your records. As standard, we transfer at 16 bit 44.1 kHz as this is the standard used for CD quality however if required we can transfer your audio at 24 bit 48 kHz on request.
Included in the cost is basic processing which includes filtering out pops and crackle as standard, results will depend on the quality of your original records however, in most cases pops and crackle will be eliminated. We use industry-standard audio restoration software to remove the background noise caused by wear and tear over the years if you require more detailed information on the software we use then please get in touch with us with any questions you have.
Once we have transferred your vinyl or shellac record and filtered out the background noise we will then convert it to the required file format that you require, if you have chosen CD we will convert firstly to WAV files before creating your audio compact disc. If you have chosen digital files we convert to the required audio file format, as standard, we offer WAV, AIFF or MP3. Both WAV and AIFF offer uncompressed quality to match the quality of CD however, MP3 files are compressed so offer lower quality but have smaller file sizes.
Once your files have been created they can be put onto a USB drive which your welcome to supply alternatively we can supply one at an additional cost starting from £9.00 for a 16gb Sandisk Ultraflair. We also offer a digital download service at an additional cost of £10.00 per order.
