Description
DAT (Digital Audio Tape) Transfer to USB Service
We offer a high-quality DAT also known as Digital Audio Tape transfer service to digital file formats such as WAV, AIFF or MP3 to USB, we never transfer and convert straight to CD or files as this can produce poor results. We use a Sony DTC-750 D.A.T recorder, the signal is passed to our computer using the optical digital out connection to offer the best transfer possible. Once we have your DAT tape captured, we will use the latest restoration software to reduce any background noise that can make your DAT tapes sound annoying. Although DAT tapes don’t produce analogue noise when being recorded, however, if you have transferred audio from a Record or cassette then this will contain noise.
As standard, we will provide a single track for the DAT tape, we do offer an optional track splitting service. Before transferring your DAT tapes we will inspect them for any damage that may cause issues when transferring.
Once we have converted the transferred audio we will convert it to the required audio file format of your choice. As standard, we will capture your audio at 16 bit 44.1 kHz as this is normal CD quality and will cause the least issues with devices such as phones, smart TVs or Media players. If you are looking for 24 bit 48 kHz files then please let us know and we can capture at the higher bitrate and frequency.
We can transcode to almost any file format, as standard we will encode to WAV, AIFF or MP3. WAV and AIFF files offer the highest quality as they are uncompressed formats MP3 files are encoded at a constant bitrate of 320 kbps offering a smaller file size but retaining quality. Once your files are created they can be transferred to a USB drive or uploaded for you to download. You are welcome to supply your own USB drive or alternatively we can supply a high-speed Sandisk USB 3 Ultraflair drive for an additional cost starting at £9.00 for a 16GB drive.
We offer a digital download service for a cost of £10.00 per order with our digital download service you will be supplied a download link that will be active for 28 days to allow you to download your files. The link can be used as many times as you like allowing you to download multiple copies of your files making it easier to have backup copies. If you require longer to download your files just let us know before the end of the 28 days and we will be happy to extend the time at no extra cost.
Additional Services
We offer a few upgrade options such as track splitting or editing services if required. The cost for track splitting is £5.00 per DAT tape, track splitting is possible as long as there is a gap between tracks.
